Stretch Out Your Hand - we must act on God's Word to receive what He desires to give. What hindrances keep us from acting on His Word? Not studying the Bible results in not knowing His promises and commands. Even when people are aware of what God has said, a life marked by sin separates people from God. Those who neglect their relationship with Christ will miss His will for them. Sometimes receiving God’s blessing requires human action: repenting of sin, focusing on God, increasing one’s knowledge of God, or sometimes simply asking. "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places"

Read Numbers 16:1 through 18:19; Mark 2:23 through 3:12

"[Jesus] looked around at them angrily and was deeply saddened by their hard hearts.'

"Then he said to the man, 'Hold out your hand.'

"So the man held out his hand, and it was restored!" - (Mark 3:5).

Meeting Jesus brought the man with the shriveled hand an opportunity to be healed.

However, the recovery would not take place until the man took action by stretching out his hand.

We must act on His Word to receive what He desires to give.

What hindrances keep us from acting on His Word?

Here are some possibilities:

• Ignorance of God’s Word.

Not studying the Bible results in not knowing His promises and commands.

• Sin.

Even when people are aware of what God has said, a life marked by sin separates people from God.

• Giving more attention to the demands of daily life than to one’s walk with Christ.

Those who neglect their relationship with Christ will miss His will for them.

Sometimes receiving God’s blessing requires human action: repenting of sin, focusing on God, increasing one’s knowledge of God, or sometimes simply asking.

Thought for Today

God has blessed you with “every spiritual blessing” in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

Quicklook: Mark 2:23 through 3:6

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
