Has the Tribulation Begun? - to make light or little of the Great Tribulation is beyond foolish. It is the great day of God’s wrath and even those in it ask rhetorically, “Who is able to stand?” The answer is, “No one.” As believers, this is an important thing to remember. Beyond just knowing we will escape these things and be taken to be with the Lord before they begin, it ought to create in us a desperation to tell everyone about the reason we have the hope that we do. We need to be telling people about the world’s only Savior and His great and demonstrated love for mankind. Time is running out, the night is far spent, and the day is at hand. Tell someone about Jesus today. Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus

That’s why they talk about any lockdown and they think it’s the tribulation.

You’re not even that close.

The tribulation is in terms that I don’t even have words to describe.

I prepared this chart for you to understand more or less the seven seals, seven trumpets, seven bowls.

Antichrist will rise.

False peace, war, famine, death, death of a fourth of the population of the world – over 2 billion people are going to die.

Earth and heaven shaken.

144,000 sealed.

Silence in heaven.

Then we move to a third of the trees and the grass destroyed.

A third of the sea life and ships destroyed.

A third of freshwater poisoned.

And that’s just in the trumpets.

A third of the sun, moon, and stars darkened.

And if that’s not enough, we have demonic locusts that Joel already predicted – not just Revelation.

Second woe, fire and brimstone, and a third of the people left are killed.

Two prophets preach and do miracles.

Christ’s reign is foreseen but then comes the seven angels with seven bowls.

All sea life is destroyed.

All water on planet earth is poisoned.

Scorching sun will hit the people.

They will not even find a way to find remedy.

I mean, people will be burned from the sun.

Deep darkness, rebellious mankind curses God, even though they know that He has the power to stop these things, but they will blaspheme His name and not repent.

Euphrates River dries, battle of Armageddon, worldwide earthquake,

Babylon destroyed, huge hailstones coming from above.

None of this has happened, but all of this will happen, and we are not to be here when it does happen.

This is the judgment of God.

That’s the day of the Lord.

The good news, the judgment of God on the wicked people here on earth will happen after the righteous are taken away.

How do you know that?

What are you talking about, Willis?

Well, 1 Thessalonians 5:9 says, “For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Did you know that I read in the writings of Church Fathers from the second century that they already believed in the rapture before the tribulation?

Understanding the Severity of the Tribulation

Years ago, there was a bumper sticker that read: “Heaven doesn’t want me and hell’s afraid I’ll take over.”

This type of thinking reveals how deep the misperception is about the gravity of eternity apart from God.

Many think the same way about the coming Great Tribulation, including some Christians.

It is not unheard of to hear or read of a Christian who believes we are already in the opening of the seven seals of Revelation 6 right now or the Trumpet judgments of Revelation 8.

The truth is there is nothing that has happened in the past or is going on in the present that even remotely compares to the future events of the 70th week of Daniel.

"For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the creation which God created until this time, nor ever shall be.

"And unless the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake, whom He chose, He shortened the days."Mark 13:19-20

The current world population is over 8.2 billion and growing.

If the Rapture removes a billion people, which is likely a very generous estimation, then that means the Tribulation will be so severe it would kill 7.2 billion people in less than 7 years if Jesus didn’t bring it to an end with His return.

We also know that the Antichrist brings a time of pseudo-peace on the earth for a season which decreases the timeframe of the cataclysmic events that would kill all, if it weren’t stopped by the Lord.

"And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains, and said to the mountains and rocks, 'Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb!

"For the great day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?'”Revelation 6:15-17

To make light or little of the Great Tribulation is beyond foolish.

It is the great day of God’s wrath and even those in it ask rhetorically, “Who is able to stand?”

The answer is, “No one.”

As believers, this is an important thing to remember.

Tell someone about Jesus today!

Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus,
