When God Sends You Back To That Place Of Failure - a major test of our faith and obedience will be obeying God in an area we experienced failure before. God will sometimes send us back to that place where we did not get the results we expected. It may be that marriage, ministry, job, family task or relationship with that family member or friend. You tried it before on your own and failed. However, with a Word from God, things will be different. Just like Peter, the Lord might be sending you back to that sea with the words to “launch out into the deep”

"Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught" - (Luke 5:4, KJV)

Jesus instructed Peter and his friends after he had used their boat as the first pulpit on water to preach!

Peter and the other fishermen had been fishing the entire night and had caught nothing.

It was a dry day for business.

After Jesus had used their boat to preach, He gave them an unexpected commandment: “launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught”.

So many lessons for us to learn from this instruction, but will touch on a few.

He commanded Peter to go back to where he had just experienced failure.

This was not a trial of luck.

Peter was not about to try another time again in case things turn out differently.

Something was different this time. Jesus sent him back to his place of failure with a Word from God.

It was the same sea, same season, similar conditions, and under all natural circumstances, Peter should have obtained the same result.

However, Peter went and obtained a result that blew his mind away. He went with a Word from God.

A major test of our faith and obedience will be obeying God in an area we experienced failure before.

God will sometimes send us back to that place where we did not get the results we expected.

It may be that marriage, ministry, job, family task or relationship with that family member or friend.

You tried it before on your own and failed.

However, with a Word from God, things will be different!

Just like Peter, the Lord might be sending you back to that sea with the words to “launch out into the deep”.

MEDITATE

What memories usually come to our mind when we face an area of life where we failed before?

Did Peter merely act out of his own mind or he heard from God and was simply obeying?

APPLY THE WORD

Can you trust God again?

Have you given up on something because  of what happened in the past even though you know clearly God is asking you to go back to that place or do that same thing?

Cheer up. Trust Him, receive His Word and launch back into the deep!

PRAY

Ask the Father to protect your heart from discouragement and disappointments in life.

Overcoming Failure - most of us would define Peter's denials of the Lord as failures. our failures don't have to be the defining characteristic of our walk with Jesus. He is gracious and compassionate and will forgive our sins when we genuinely repent. The Lord can use our failures to equip us to serve others in his family better. We must never relegate anyone, not even ourselves, to the junk heap for letting the Lord down at one time or another

Don’t Let the Fear of Failure Hold You Back - are you allowing a past failure to hold you back from your purpose? It doesn’t matter what you’ve been through. Ask God to help you see that he still loves you and wants you to fulfill his purpose for you - push yourself to trust God in everything you do. Then live in faith and love. “God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control”

God’s Solution for Our Failures - we all mess up from time to time. We all make mistakes. God does not leave us alone in our sin. He has a solution for our failures: grace - you and I are trophies of God’s grace. God realizes our frailty. If he only used perfect people, the Bible would be a pretty short book. We don’t have to live with guilt, because the Bible says, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”
