Changed in a Moment - the Christian community had not been expecting a change. They had been hounded by Saul and scattered in an attempt to escape persecution. They must have wondered if the persecution ever would end. Their lives, and the history of the world, changed the moment Saul met Jesus on the road to Damascus. If God can change a man like Saul, surely He can change men and women today. He can change even the most hardened atheist and the most bitter opponent of Christianity. Think about people who need Jesus in their lives

“Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord … asked for letters … so that if he found any belonging to the Way … he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.” - Acts 9:1–2 NASB

It would be hard to imagine a person more opposed to Christianity than Saul of Tarsus.

He sought to destroy the church and throw believers in prison.

He took his quest to Damascus, seeking to arrest any followers of Jesus.

Yet in only a moment, this determined anti-Christian completely changed.

All it took was a supernatural encounter with Jesus Himself.

Without warning, he realized that all of his assumptions had been wrong.

No one, in fact, had been expecting a change, certainly not the Christian community.

He can change people who are headed in the wrong direction and who have no sympathy for the things of God.

Today, think about people who need Jesus in their lives.

Do not be discouraged if they reject the Gospel at first.

Pray for them.

Continue to commit them to God persistently and relentlessly.

Continue to believe that the same God who suddenly changed Saul will suddenly change them!

Reflection Question:

Write a list of people for whom you are praying concerning their salvation

Prayer

Father, I commit these people to You: ______.

Change them.

Speak to them.

Turn their lives around.

In Jesus’ name,

amen.

God is Faithful, Even When We are Not - we all fail the Lord - every time we are unfaithful to him, he remains faithful to us. God will not allow some present struggle of yours to upset his calling and plan for you. You may have gotten off track, but God’s plan isn’t. No matter what kind of trials you’ve been through, you can know that God will be there for you. He sees your heart and responds to your broken, contrite spirit. His eternal purpose for your life will not be thwarted

A Time of Visitation - visitation isn't simply a manifestation of God's presence. It is a sudden moving of the Spirit that brings dramatic change. It is a powerful intervention, a manifestation of God that bears His own hallmark so that no one else can take the glory or the credit. To put it most simply, visitation is when GOD COMES. God reveals His attributes so powerfully that people are filled with a sense of awe and reverence

God Speaks - don't make the carrying out of God's will complicated. It isn't. God's solutions are often strange and simple, so be open. We try to make God complex and complicated. He isn't. Stay open to His strange yet simple solutions. God's selections are always sovereign and sure, so be sensitive. God's promotions are usually sudden and surprising, so be ready. Our calling is to be faithful in the demanding tasks, whether that is our education, our marriage, our occupation, or just the daily grind of life

The Way - Christians have chosen a common path called “the Way.” They have decided to follow Jesus, who is “the way, the truth, and the life.” The way reminds us that we have a destination. We are on a path through life. We have choices regarding the roads we travel, the things we do, the places we go, and the decisions we make. Our way leads somewhere specific. We are moving toward eternity with Jesus. Remember that you are part of “the Way” on a journey with Jesus. Let Him direct your steps. Follow Him

“I confess this to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I do serve the God of our fathers.” - Acts 24:14 NASB

Sometime in early church history, followers of Jesus collectively began to be called “the Way.”

This became a simple description that summarized the Christian life. It reminds us that life is a journey.

We do not arrive instantly at our destination.

We travel through places and times.

We go through experiences.

We learn through the places we have visited, the experiences we have gone through, and the mistakes we have made.

Describing our journey as “the Way” demonstrates that there are no instant cures.

No one has infinite or complete knowledge.

Even a man as wise as Paul knew he was on a journey, learning step by step how to follow Jesus.

The word way reminds us that we are on a path through life.

We have choices regarding the roads we travel, the things we do, the places we go, and the decisions we make.

People who are Christians have chosen a common path — “the Way.”

They have decided to follow Jesus, who is “the way, the truth, and the life” - (John 14:6).

We obey His Word.

“The way” reminds us that we have a destination.

Many people spend their lives wandering around, moving toward unsure destinations, or pursuing the wrong destination.

But our way leads somewhere specific.

We are moving toward eternity with Jesus!

Today, remember that you are part of “the Way” on a journey with Jesus.

Let Him direct your steps.

Follow Him.

Reflection Question: Reflect on your journey so far with Jesus.

Me, Myself and I - we all stand condemned before a righteous God. There is one reason and one alone that God flings wide the gates to His kingdom ... and that is trusting in the Person and Work of the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. This is eternal life – that they know God and Jesus Christ Whom He has sent. Heaven’s admissions policy is to know God and His only begotten Son. It all centers around believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and His work on the cross, for apart from Calvary there is no forgiveness of sin – no salvation – no heaven

I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ - The Doctrines of Salvation - Salvation is found only through the Lord Jesus Christ, whose very coming into the world was to “save his people from their sins”. The name Jesus means “salvation.” His name really was Yeshua, the word that often is translated “salvation” in the Old Testament. The theme of salvation is “so great” it embraces many major doctrines of Scripture. No wonder Paul was not ashamed of this great gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ, and neither should we be

Yeshua Hamashiach - Jesus never corrected anyone as long as the person came to Him in faith. The name we use for the Son of God appears to be unimportant to Him. He hears our hearts regardless of the words we speak. The name we use for the Son of God, when we come to Him in faith, appears to be unimportant to Him. The power of the name is not in its pronunciation but in the person to whom it refers, our Lord and Redeemer and King
