Names of God - let us recognize our high and holy Mighty Warrior God, who desires a close personal relationship with each of us. We must never ignore Him nor take Him for granted. When we maintain a right relationship, He is ready to deliver and to bless. The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies fights for His people, but He also serves as righteous Judge. "Turn us again to yourself... Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved"

Psalm 80 contains some wonderful names of God.

By observing what Asaph calls Him, we gain insight into His character, His position, and how He relates to His people.

In verse 1, he asks the Lord to lead Israel like a Shepherd who tenderly cares for His flock.

The Hebrew name Elohim, used in verse 3, is used of God as Creator.

The Psalmist beseeches God to restore His people and smile upon them.

We could offer this plea for the Church and for our nation.

Verse 4 combines God’s transcendent title spoken to Moses at the burning bush with His role as Commander of heaven’s armies.

The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies fights for His people, but He also serves as righteous Judge.

That’s why verses 7 and 19 repeat the petition of verse 3.

"Turn us again to yourself. . . Make your face shine down upon us. Only then will we be saved" - (Psalm 80:7).

Let us recognize our high and holy Mighty Warrior God, who desires a close personal relationship with each of us.

We must never ignore Him nor take Him for granted.

When we maintain a right relationship, He is ready to deliver and to bless.

Prayer Suggestion: Praise God, using His many names.

Seeing the Face of God - there is a time in a believer’s life when he meets God face to face. That is when he comes to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. When a sinner realizes he is lost, and the only way to be saved — the only way for salvation is to come to God on His grounds and to repent (confess his sin of rejecting God’s Son)

I AM WHO I AM - this name was considered so holy that it could not be spoken aloud or even written in its entirety. This God is not limited to a first name or a particular domain. He is self-sufficient, needing nothing, and self-directed, accomplishing His will as He sees fit. And He is unchanging, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever"

Jesus the Great I AM - Jesus was equating Himself with the "I AM" title God gave Himself in Exodus 3:14. Such a statement, if not true, was blasphemy and the punishment prescribed by the Mosaic Law was death. Jesus committed no blasphemy; He was and is God, the second Person of the Godhead, equal to the Father in every way
