Conditioned to Fear - Childhood experiences have burned deep scars into many hearts. No one remembers how or when the fears first started. Everyone needs someone strong to protect him or her from the storms of life — someone mightier than another human being. They need to lean on the Heavenly Master

"God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble" - Psalm 46:1 New Living Translation

Tillie, a little brown-and-white dog, is terrified of thunder.

A series of storms rattled the windowpanes.

Sunday through Saturday, it was the same every day.

After a week of this, Tillie expected thunder every time it rained.

The following Monday a light shower pattered gently against the windowpanes.

Trembling, Tillie huddled close to her master, certain the thunder would follow.

She leaned against his leg or lay at his feet.

Her master was her refuge.

Most humans have been conditioned to fear something, as well.

Childhood experiences have burned deep scars into many hearts.

They may be burned so deeply no one remembers how or when the fears first started.

Once in a while, everyone needs someone strong to protect him or her from the storms of life — someone mightier than another human being.

They need to lean on the Heavenly Master.

"God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble" - Psalm 46:1 New Living Translation

Challenge for Today:

Memorize this verse.

Lean on God’s truth during your thunderstorms.

Fear Not - Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. The Lord Jesus Himself promised, "Lo I am with you always, even to the end of the age"

You can live free from fear - it is possible to live free from fear in this dangerous and unpredictable world. To abide in the shadow of the Almighty is to live in continual union with Him, keeping His Word and obeying His voice - God shall surely deliver you. Those who abide in the Lord can live without dread of what the devil will do

Alone With God - there is a voice that can quiet fear and calm the heart. The secret of sheltering in God’s shadow - take time to shut out the world and be alone with God. To hear His voice, other voices must be silenced. To draw near to God, step away from the noise of the world
