Set My Spirit Free - Maranatha! Praise Band
lyrics
Set my spirit free that I might worship thee
Set my spirit free
That I might praise thy name
Let all bondage go and let deliverance flow
Set my spirit free to worship thee
(repeat)
Let all bondage go
And let deliverance flow
Set my spirit free
To worship thee
Set my spirit free
That I might worship thee
Set my spirit free
That I might praise thy name
Let all bondage go
And let deliverance flow
Set my spirit free to worship thee
Set my spirit free to worship thee

For Freedom Christ Has Set Us Free - Christ came to call every believer to live in liberty - to set free from all bondage; to do away with all that oppresses. Well, believe it! Because that is exactly the kind of life Christ wants every one of his children to enjoy. Not just a few of his children, but all of them! This life is freely offered to all who simply trust him for it. Jesus was proclaiming to the whole world, “My mission on earth is to liberate every bruised life” He is saying to you, “I am sent to liberate your life, to release your life from all oppression and bondage. I come to set your spirit free.”
Jesus came to set you free - Jesus spent His life serving others. He did not come to earth to have a good time or receive praise and recognition. Rather than asking others to serve Him, He came to serve them. He gave His life “as a ransom for many.” He gave Himself that we might be free from sin and the chains that bind us - free from sin and pain, fear and worry, hopelessness and doubt. Jesus said that the greatest rewards come to those who serve. The way to “become great” is to be a servant. He wants you to experience the fullness of His Kingdom
A Bondservant by Choice - Christ is the master, and we are the servants whose freedom has been purchased. The cross is God's Sabbath, the year of release for all prisoners, captives, slaves and servants, and we who were sold under the Law have been set free by grace. We are freed from sin, yet bondservants to Christ, all our days, by choice. To be truly free, you must become bound. To gain the greatest liberty in God, one must give up all rights and become a lifelong bondservant to the Lord Jesus Christ. There is a glorious servanthood that leads to the highest form of freedom
