Don't Lose Your Identity - one of the ways the world tries to conform you, or squeeze you into its mold and limit you, is by judging you with certain human standards and calling you certain names. Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come. As a new creature, your identity and realities have changed. You need to know yourself in Christ – with the help of the Spirit. Just as people did not know Jesus’ true identity when He was on the earth, they also do not know our true identity right now

“And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the princes; Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and
understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

"And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king's meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

"My Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.”Daniel 1:3-7

Did you know that Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were not the original names of Daniel’s friends?

These names were given to them in Babylon.

The good news is that even though their names were changed by men, they did not lose their true identities as children of God.

One of the ways the world tries to conform you, or squeeze you into its mould and limit you, is by judging you with certain human standards and calling you certain names.

When Jesus was manifesting the wisdom and power of God, the people of his hometown got offended and said “Is this not the carpenter’s son?

"Don’t we know his mother, brothers and sisters?” - (Mark 6:3).

The Bible says, “No longer, then, do we judge anyone by human standards.

"Even if at one time we judged Christ according to human standards, we no longer do so.

"Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:16-18 (GNT)

No longer, then, do we judge anyone by human standards.

Even if at one time we judged Christ according to human standards, we no longer do so.

Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come.

As a new creature, your identity and realities have changed.

Right now, it would be best if you rediscovered yourself.

You need to know yourself in Christ – with the help of the Spirit.

Flesh and blood cannot perfectly discern your true identity, (Matthew 16:16-17).

Just as people did not know Jesus’ true identity when He was on the earth, they also do not know our true identity right now, (1 John 3:1).

P R A Y E R

Father, please help me by your Spirit to always know and hold on to the new identity you have given me in Christ.

You Are His Masterpiece - remember that you belong to Creator God. He made you for a purpose and placed you on the earth for such a time as this. Breathe in God's promises and breathe out His Word. Rehearse His goodness. And remember your worth. Walk with joyful, humble, bold confidence today. As you walk intimately with Jesus, may faith feel as natural to you as breathing in and out. Be more careful with the thoughts that seek to take up residence in your brain. Understand the wisdom of guarding your heart and renewing your mind

The New Birth - the new birth is a way of describing what happens when a person puts his faith in Jesus - we are reborn spiritually into a new life that is defined by Christ. This new life is possible because of the sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross and completed when He rose from the dead three days later. We have been crucified with Christ and our old selves have died so that we would no longer be slaves to sin, but instead be slaves to Christ. All who put their faith in Him are a new creation - we have been born again or reborn

We Are Children of God - God wants us to have a revelation of him as a father - a heavenly Father. How wonderful to know that he chose each of us to be his child solely on the basis of love and mercy. God not only chose you, but he adopted you as his child. And his Spirit tells you to cry, “Abba” to him, saying, “You have made me a joint-heir, a brother, to Jesus. You are truly mine.” In his mercy he says to you, “I want you — I choose you — because I want to be a father to you.” Lay down all your worldly loves and follow him today
