The Lord Is Near - God is more prepared to keep his promises to you than the devil is to ruin you. Indeed, no matter how near the enemy comes to you, the Lord is all the nearer. God is near to defend. God says he is especially near to protect the downcast and brokenhearted. If you are a child of God the Lord Jesus lives in you. He is near to you in your anguish. No matter how close the enemy may seem, the Lord is near, and he is ready to shield and protect you with his mighty hand

“They draw near who follow after wickedness; they are far from your law. You are near, O Lord, and all your commandments are truth” - (Psalm 119:150-151, NKJV).

In these verses, David is saying, “God, if my enemies are drawing so near to destroy me, you are all the nearer in my time of need.”

God is more prepared to keep his promises to you than the devil is to ruin you.

Indeed, no matter how near the enemy comes to you, the Lord is all the nearer.

The Hebrew word for “near” in Psalm 119 connotes defense.

It means God is near to defend.

God says he is especially near to protect the downcast and brokenhearted:

“For thus says the high and lofty one who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: ‘I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones’” - (Isaiah 57:15).

Are you a child of God?

Does the Lord Jesus live in you?

God says he is near to you in your anguish.

Here is his promise to you:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are mine.

"When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.

"When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

"For I am the Lord your God, the holy one of Israel, your Savior …

"Since you were precious in my sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you; therefore I will give men for you, and people for your life.

"Fear not, for I am with you …” - (Isaiah 43:1-5).

David also said, “You hold me by my right hand” -  (Psalm 73:23).

God was near to David, walking with him, hand in hand, through his trouble.

David was confident in the midst of his enemies because he was holding his Father’s hand.

Moreover, David said God talked to him, giving him counsel and guidance:

“You will guide me with your counsel” - (Psalm 73:24).

No matter how close the enemy may seem, the Lord is near, and he is ready to shield and protect you with his mighty hand.

David Wilkerson was called to New York City in 1958 to minister to gang members and drug addicts, as told in the best-selling book The Cross and the Switchblade. He went on to create Teen Challenge and World Challenge, Inc. to minister to people’s spiritual and physical needs. In 1987, he established Times Square Church. As its founding pastor, he faithfully led this congregation, delivering powerful biblical messages that encourage righteous living and complete reliance on God. David Wilkerson also had a strong burden to encourage his fellow pastors. He founded the Summit International School of Ministry; and from 1999 to 2008, he held international conferences to strengthen church leaders. His passion to support believers, build up leaders and care for the poor is still at the heart of World Challenge’s ministries to this day.

Your Deep Frustrations Are A Sign God Will Use You Mightily - desperate hunger is a great gift - when you first get it, you will be convinced you are being punished. God is carving out your soul to create a greater capacity for His power. It seems cruel but it makes perfect sense: God wants you to want something you can’t have. It is in the not having it, that your desire intensifies. If you hunger, you are blessed because that is the proof you shall be filled

Disappointments - life is filled with disappointments - times that try the very souls of men. Many of God's greatest servants experienced deep disappointment in their journeys of faithfulness. When we have done all we know to do and the formula has not worked, it leaves us questioning. When life doesn't add up, it leaves the heart sick. There are times when holding on to our Master's robe is all that we can do. It is all that He wants us to do

He Sings a Melody Over You - our heavenly Father will never let suffering, pain, and disappointment have the last word. The last note belongs to Him. In your hardship and sorrow, He sings a melody of hope, comfort, and victory over you. What a wonderful thought. The psalmist says “At night his song is with me." When you find yourself restless, lonely, or downcast, find comfort in singing an old favorite hymn. You sing it to yourself as a reminder that God is with you. And you sing it to God, praising Him in faith
