Wedding Day - Christians are looking forward to a wedding. The Church — all people who have committed their lives to Jesus — makes up the bride of Christ. Jesus has already committed His life to His bride, going as far as to die for her. Someday, He will return and take His bride to be with Him forever. God has made us holy through the blood of Christ. We express that holiness by the godly actions — the “fine linen” He gives us to wear. Follow His directions to be prepared for His return. Read Revelation 19:1–21

Miranda’s day had finally come. 

Her engagement to Tyler had lasted two years. 

With Tyler’s job-related move and a fire that destroyed Miranda’s family home, the date just kept being pushed back. 

Their relationship had grown closer when distance came between them and she looked forward to the wedding date.

Likewise, Christians are looking forward to a wedding.

“'[Let us be glad and rejoice, and let us give honor to him. 

"'For the time has come for the wedding feast of the Lamb, and his bride has prepared herself. 

"'She has been given the finest of pure white linen to wear.' 

"For the fine linen represents the good deeds of God’s holy people" - (Revelation 19:7–8).

GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Sarah represents freedom, and her son, Isaac, was a son of promise and of freedom. “We, like Isaac, are children of promise; we are not under the law; we are freeborn citizens of the heavenly city of Christ.” The “mother” in Galatians 4:26 is not a literal female personage. Rather, it is a symbolic representation of the kingdom of Christ. Anyone who proclaims herself the “heavenly mother” or who claims to be the literal “bride of Christ” is practicing deceit

Streams in my desert: The New Jerusalem - God does a complete make-over of heaven and earth. The new heaven and new earth are what some call the “eternal state.” God reveals the New Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. It is the place where God will dwell with His people forever. Inhabitants of this celestial city will have all tears wiped away. If you believe that Jesus, the Son of God, died and rose again and have asked God to save you by His grace, then you are a citizen of the New Jerusalem

Streams in my desert: The Beauties of Heaven - the greatest aspect of heaven is the presence of God. Heaven is like a glorified version of the good things of this world. Because of the transcendent newness of heaven we would not be able to understand a literal description of it. We get glimpses of what heaven is like, but we don’t see a detailed picture. Our worship should serve as a brief taste of the glories of being in His presence. In the Spirit, we are already seated in the heavenlies and must now continue to invite others to come in

Streams in my desert: Maranatha Come Lord Jesus - JESUS is the Fountain of Life and Source of all life. He is the Living Water and the Bread of Life that came down from heaven, and the invitation to those who are thirsty is to come. Everyone is given the opportunity to freely drink of the living water - to drink without cost or payment. This is a pleading call to everyone who wishes to partake of the water of life. All who come may drink freely from its healing flood without any charge
