God’s Hedge of Protection Around You and Your House - there is a spiritual hedge of protection erected by God around you. Although you might never see it with your physical eyes, know and believe that there is a hedge of fire around you and all that is yours. We can verify the truthfulness of this hedge of protection from other parts of scripture. God’s pillar, a physical pillar of fire, created a hedge or wall between the Israelites and Pharaoh’s army. Similarly, when the Syrian army came to attack Elisha, there was a host of chariots and horses of fire around Elisha. “As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, So the Lord is round about his people.” Your Father surrounds you with a fire barrier

"Hast not thou made an hedge
about him, his house, and all that he hath
 on every side?

"thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land" - (Job 1:10 KJV)

Although Satan is a liar and the Father of lies (John 8:44), his comments in scripture sometimes reveal profound truths regarding his spiritual activities.

His remarks about Job disclose how God supernaturally protects His children with a hedge.

When the Lord asked Satan about Job, Satan replied,

“Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side?” - (Job 1:10 KJV).

God had built a hedge of protection around Job that kept Satan and demonic intruders away.

It is apparent that Satan had attempted to attack Job but could not break through the hedge of protection.

Although nothing was physical around Job, he had the best personal security any human being could ever wish for!

Since Satan could not lie to God, we can receive his comments as accurate.

Furthermore, we can verify the truthfulness of this hedge of protection from other parts of scripture.

When Pharaoh and his host pursued the Israelites after they left Egypt, the scripture says,

“And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:

"And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night” - (Exodus 14:19–20 KJV).

God’s pillar, a physical pillar of fire, created a hedge or wall between the Israelites and Pharaoh’s army.

Similarly, when the Syrian army came to attack Elisha, there was a host of chariots and horses of fire around Elisha (2 Kings 6:17).

The Psalmist summarized this truth beautifully in the verse below:

“As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, So the Lord is round about his people From henceforth even for ever” - (Psalm 125:2 KJV).

So there is a spiritual hedge of protection erected by God around you.

Although you might never see it with your physical eyes, know and believe that there is a hedge of fire around you and all that is yours.

Take a moment and ponder upon this truth.

Say the words of Psalm 125:2 again and again as you mutter them in light of the truth in this devotional.

Trust in the Word.

Accept and believe that there is indeed a hedge of protection around you.

You are not a vagabond on earth — your Father surrounds you with a fire barrier.

Thank the Lord for the hedge of fire around you.

He will cover you with his feathers -the Lord is likened to a bird whose wings of protection overshadow us and whose strong-arm guards us when danger approaches or when we are overcome by the heat of the day or the perils of the night. When we are in Christ and resting in Him, He becomes our Rock of salvation and the perfect Shelter from every kind of danger. He is our guaranteed security and our secure hiding place that can never be moved. He is the One in Whom we are to place our trust

Shadow of the Almighty - the “shadow of the Almighty” is like a shade cast by the Lord that marks off a clearly perceived boundary. Believers in Jesus are covered by the blood of Christ, which grants full access into the throne room of God’s grace. Abiding in God’s presence, we find security, protection, and care. To dwell in the “shadow of the Almighty” is to find complete and eternal rest and safety, no matter what we face in this life, in death, or in the life to come. The ultimate victory is ours in Christ

Underneath are God's Arms - God parted the Red Sea to save the Israelites but used the same waves to crash down on their enemies. We too discover Him to be a Source of refuge and a dwelling place of safety. We find Him to be our protection in the midst of a crooked generation that seeks us harm us, and we discover that the eternal God is indeed our refuge and strength, for underneath are His everlasting arms of support, strength, and protection
