"He shall cover you with His feathers …" - Psalm 91:4a
Good morning from the Secret Place.
When I first read this piece of Psalm 91, the immediate question was, “How can God have feathers? What on earth is He talking about?”
Down filled jackets and comforters are the lightest warmth known.
The first time I ever sank into a down filled bed was during a visit to a friend’s home in Seattle.
Pristine white coverlets lay with airy splendor under a canopy of lace.
Downy pillows nestled at the headboard.
It was a bed for a princess and I drifted off to sleep without effort. Those memories still linger.
Surely, the feathers have something to do with comfort. Right?
Let’s find out.
Cover - <5526>
• to hedge, fence about, shut in
• to block, overshadow, screen, stop the approach, shut off, cover• to cover, lay over
• to weave together
Digging deeper into Hebrew:
<5526> Cover cakak (saw-kak’); or sakak (saw-kak’); a primitive root; properly, to entwine as a screen; by implication, to fence in, cover over, (figuratively) protect: KJV – cover, defense, defend, hedge in, join together, set, shut up.
Samech= Samekh 60 = Pride, Conceit, Earthly. Means: To lean upon, Hold, or Support – the heart of God
KofKaf 20 = Anointing of the hand on the head, Redemption. Means: To bend down, surrender
End Kaf= Final Kaf 20 = Anointing of the hand on the head, Redemption. Means: To bend down, surrender
COVER - When we lean upon God, look to Him to help us, and surrender our ideas of what should be, His covers us in His heart.
Now that is not only comforting, it is ultimate protection and peace.

“I am preparing you for burial. Complete surrender means complete death to your own agendas and desires, strengths and all must die in order for complete surrender to occur.”
“Lord, what must I do?”
“Allow death to occur. Don’t fight it. Complete surrender comes piece by piece until it’s “complete”. “It is finished.” The words I spoke on the cross were an end of a long chain of events where I surrendered My will for My Father’s will. There is joy to be discovered in every step of surrender.”
“Joyful abandon is part of the surrender process. It’s the adventure of looking for things to hand over, knowing with every relinquishment, you come closer to Me and to My purpose. It’s a scavenger hunt in the Spirit.”
“Lord, what can I surrender to You today?”
“Surrender your need to be in charge. Look for ways to hand over control, then let go joyfully.”

• feather
• wing
Feather b ‘ebrah: A feminine noun indicating feathers or wings.
It describes the wings of an ostrich (Job 39:13); of an eagle spreading its wings to carry its young (Deuteronomy 32:11); as Yahweh carried His people (cf. Exodus19:4).
It is used metaphorically of the wings of protection which the Lord gives those who rest under them (Psalm 91:4).
The wings of a dove gilded with gold and silver are descriptive of Israel’s prosperity in Psalm 68:13(14).
That is part of the description but here is the primitive root:
<82>

“Peace Beloved, Peace. Sink down into My will. Rest in My hands. Your times ARE in My hands. Really. Learn to turn your ears to hear My voice and your eyes to see Me. I am never in a hurry. I make all things work together perfectly like a fine watch. No winding necessary. Precision watchmanship. Sequenced rhythm, consistent forward motion.”
“Pause and calmly consider what I’ve just said.”
“The face remains fixed as the hands move around and around. Fix your eyes on Me and let Me move the circumstances and influences as I see fit. I will not skip a beat or delay My movement forward. Regardless of how it appears I AM leading you in triumph. There are triumphs along the way that you may or may not see. But instead of wearing down, you are gaining strength. You will run and not be weary. You will walk and not faint. Your ARE rising up on eagles wings.”
“Soar Beloved, Soar. You haven’t seen anything yet.”
Have a blessed day.

MARY ELLEN WRIGHT
Life with God is such an adventure. I never thought I’d be sharing my story and all I’ve learned online. In fact, I was born long before the average person even knew what a computer was. But God told me years ago, “Journal your daily walk with Me. Someday you will share from your journals all you’ve learned.”
Now here is a little about my story. My husband Mike and I have been married for 54 years. He loves to garden and work with Ham radios. I love to study and teach God’s word and write. We have learned to let each other be who God created us to be and value our differences. What I thought was love between opposites, in the beginning, doesn’t look anything like the strong oneness we share today. It’s been a great God adventure.
We have three grown children and six grandchildren, ranging from adults to a 2nd grader. They are all followers of Jesus. We are blessed to share life with them and watch God’s plans for their lives unfold.

Nothing Will Be Able to Separate Us From the Love of God in Christ Jesus - it is impossible to build up our faith through human strength or ability. Without the Holy Spirit, we simply aren’t able to keep ourselves in the knowledge and assurance of God’s love for us. We need God’s Spirit to empower us in all things. When everything seems to conspire against God’s promises being fulfilled, the Holy Spirit rises up in us with true words of comfort
