Vengeance is mine - as long as you seek revenge on your adversaries, God will let you fight them alone. You will see divine results when you choose to let Him do His job. Do not seek to repay evil to those who have done evil to you. The Lord says we must leave revenge and payment of evil doers to Him. He will fully repay evil. As a child of God, rather than revenge and condemnation, give love to the world. Ask the Holy Spirit to grant you grace to stay away from vengeance, and yield to His control, and allow Him to be the judge

.

"For we know him who said, 'Vengeance is mine; I will repay.' And again, 'The Lord will judge his people.' - (Hebrews 10:30 ESV).

Have you ever been so hurt by someone, that you felt an urge rise within you, like a volcano, to punch them in the face?

There is something inside of us all that cries out for justice for others, but does not think about justice for our own faults!

And yes, people will be fully rewarded for what they have done.

God simply instructs us to let Him to it. He does not want us not to take His job, but rather occupy ourselves with the job He has given us.

God has reserved judgement to Himself.

In observing humanity, my own natural inclinations, and studying scriptures, I discovered that, if God leaves judgment to us, including all His power, we will inflict judgment one hundred times more severe than what is deserved.

Not only are we quick to seek judgement for others; we will also seek to render the harshest judgement possible.

While humanity does deserve God’s most severe punishment, we must allow the Spirit dominion over our fleshly desires.

Do not seek to repay evil to those who have done evil to you?

Who amongst us has never felt like doing so?

However, the Word rules in our lives-not our feelings.

The Lord says we must leave revenge and payment of evil doers to Him.

He will fully repay evil.

MEDITATE

Rather than repaying evil, what does God want us to do? (Romans 12:21).

Declare that “I am a child of God. Rather than revenge and condemnation, I give love to the world”.

APPLY THE WORD

As long as you seek revenge on your adversaries, God will let you fight them alone!

You will see divine results when you choose to let Him do His job.

PRAY

Ask the Spirit to grant you grace to stay away from vengeance, and yield to His control, and allow Him to be the judge.

An Eye For An Eye - an eye for an eye doesn’t mean we do to others the same thing that they did to us. We should never try to overcome evil with doing more evil. Vengeance is not ours. We must react in a way that is “honorable in the sight of all,” including people who have done us wrong. Before quoting an eye for an eye the next time we get hurt by someone and seek to avenge ourselves, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you

Give Grace - when an enemy appears poised to cause harm, God’s people can stand confidently, knowing the Lord protects His children, just as He protected Elisha. Because the Lord is in them, they can draw on His strength to show love to those who try to hurt them. They can also pray that their enemies’ spiritual eyes will be opened so they can clearly see who Jesus is. Lord, help me to show Your love to those around me today

Dashing Infants Against the Rocks - the background is the Jewish people calling upon God to exact revenge upon their military enemies. This cry for revenge desired the destruction of their enemies. The writer did not intend to go out and kill babies; rather, he desired justice. Even today, those who have lost loved ones at the hands of others understandably desire the death of those who committed the crime. It is a plea for God to intervene in the affairs of men to keep His covenant and right all wrongs
