The Battle Plan - the army of Jerusalem would never be victorious against the Assyrians, but the armies of heaven could easily win this battle. Too often when we are threatened by circumstances, we try to reason our way out of the situation. We prepare to fight, make plans to flee, or try to negotiate a solution. But our first response should always be to retreat to the place of prayer, lay things out before God, and seek Him for the victory

The mighty Assyrian army arrived in Judah.

The people of God had no chance against Assyria’s military might.

When King Hezekiah received the threatening letter, he responded differently than other kings.

He didn’t prepare for battle in the usual way.

After Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it, he went up to the Lord’s Temple and spread it out before the Lord (Isaiah 37:14).

King Hezekiah knew this wasn’t his battle to fight; it was God’s battle.

The army of Jerusalem would never be victorious against the Assyrians, but the armies of heaven could easily win this battle.

So Hezekiah chose to fight this battle in the prayer room.

Too often when we are threatened by circumstances, we try to reason our way out of the situation.

We prepare to fight, make plans to flee, or try to negotiate a solution.

But our first response should always be to retreat to the place of prayer, lay things out before God, and seek Him for the victory.

Prayer Suggestion: Pray for victory in a situation in your life.

Thou Art the God - good King Hezekiah was in what seemed a hopeless situation. The mighty armies of the Assyrian empire were at the gates of Jerusalem, demanding its surrender. Grossly outnumbered, Hezekiah knew the true God who had made heaven and Earth and he could pray in reliance on His word. God - maker of heaven and Earth - is still on His throne and can still hear and answer the prayers of those who call on His name

He Sees Your Tears - perhaps you’re in a season when tears are coming and going. Let me encourage you; it is in those seasons that God is doing his most incredible work. Through tears wrought within the peril and weakness of a Christian’s pilgrimage, God is bending low to hear His child’s cries. Our tears have a purpose. They remind us of our need. They remind us that even Christ’s tears fell. They remind us that tears will one day be no more

God's Secret Agents - we have a fire of God at work - His angels, accomplishing His will. Angels have always served God. They sang at creation. Angels are God's invisible army, His servants, working for us. God sends angels to minister to you. It should encourage you to know that they are working on your behalf. Let's rejoice today that we are not alone. Greater are those who are with us than those who are against us. Thank God for His angels
