The Message of Revelation - the book seems mysterious and hard to understand - to those who read, hear, and take to heart what is written in it, several beautiful and encouraging truths emerge. We see a faithful God still saying “Come” to the sinner

Prologue

1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.

Greeting to the Seven Churches

4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia:

Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of kings on earth.

To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood 6 and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth willwail on account of him. Even so. Amen.

8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”Revelation 1:1–8 English Standard Version

God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to its message and obey what it says, for the time is near (Revelation 1:3).

To many the Book of Revelation is frightening. They open its pages and hear thunder and see lightening.

They hear trumpets and see angels pouring out vials of wrath.

They see cataclysmic happenings on earth and in the heavens.

The book seems mysterious and hard to understand, so they close its pages and it remains unread.

But there is more to this book.

To those who read, hear, and take to heart what is written in it, several beautiful and encouraging truths emerge.

There is the everlasting Word still standing after years of abuse.

We see a faithful God still saying “Come” to the sinner.

We see a victorious Savior, a defeated enemy, a triumphant Church, and a coming King.

What a wonderful message to share with a troubled world today.

Challenge for Today: Resolve to read the Book of Revelation this week and find these wonderful truths.

The General Council of the Assemblies of God

The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct.

The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally self-existent "I AM," the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed Himself as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
