An elderly couple was talking one day about their grandchildren.
The grandchildren were struggling with marriage, child-rearing, budgeting, and a host of other things.
The tone turned a bit negative, so the grandmother reminded the grandfather that God could make a difference.
Grandfather replied, “I know He can. I’m just looking at what He’s got to work with.”
Some folks are hard cases.
Saul, in his pre-apostle days, was a hard case.
He was actually “breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples” (Acts 9:1) when things changed.
As he was approaching Damascus on this mission, a light from heaven suddenly shone down around him (Acts 9:3).
Saul met Jesus in a miraculous fashion. He heard the voice of the Lord and forever changed his ways.
It’s easy sometimes to get caught up in the impossibilities of a situation.
It can seem like there is no hope for change. But it is then one must remember that God specializes in hard cases.
Challenge for Today: Remember that nothing is impossible with God (Mark 10:27).
